Why Nepali workers
Why employers hire from Nepal
Employers in the Gulf, Malaysia and Europe recruit Nepali workers for these reasons.
- Experience in the Gulf and Asia
- Nepali workers have worked in the Gulf, Malaysia and elsewhere for decades, so many candidates know the work environment and what employers expect.
- Working English or Hindi
- Many candidates can follow instructions in English or Hindi, which helps on multinational sites and in service jobs. Language level varies by candidate, so tell us what you need.
- Certified trades
- Nepal's technical education council (CTEVT) certifies many trades. Employers can ask for certificates and hold a trade test before selection.
- A regulated process
- Overseas recruitment from Nepal is controlled by DOFE. Demand letters are verified, workers get a Labour Permit and a mandatory orientation, and welfare fund contributions are collected.

Employer FAQ
Questions employers ask
How long does it take to hire workers from Nepal?
It depends on the destination, the number of workers and how quickly the demand letter is attested. The Gulf and Malaysia are usually faster than Europe, where a work permit has to be obtained first. After DOFE approval, candidate selection, medicals, visas and orientation follow. We give you a realistic estimate after we see your requirement.
What documents does an employer need to provide?
The core document is a demand letter on company letterhead that lists job titles, numbers, salary, benefits and contract terms. It is attested as required for the destination, together with company registration documents and a power of attorney in favour of the Nepali agency. Requirements can change, so we confirm the current list with you before you start.
Who pays the recruitment costs?
Nepal's rules limit what workers can be charged, and many destinations require the employer to pay the visa and air ticket. We agree the service terms with the employer in writing before work starts, and we explain the worker-side costs allowed under DOFE rules.
Can I interview candidates before they are selected?
Yes. Employers can interview shortlisted candidates by video call or in person in Kathmandu, and can ask for a trade test for skilled roles.
Do the workers speak English?
Many candidates have working English or Hindi, but the level varies. Tell us the language level you need in the demand letter and we will screen for it.
Are workers medically checked before departure?
Yes. Workers need a medical examination from an approved clinic for the destination country before the visa is processed. Only medically fit candidates proceed.
